Promises, not resoutions

For New Year’s Eve this year, I participated in a “Promise Wall” event for Because I said I would, a social movement to make people mindful of the promises they make to themselves and others.

Here’s a pretty cool video from the events that happened Tuesday night.

I also made a simple promise to myself: Live in the moment

So often I fall for the temptation of my smartphone, tablet, laptop, TV, what have you, instead of appreciating the time and place I find myself. And as I lose myself to these distractions, I miss the good stuff, the things that make life worth living. So that is my promise to myself for 2014. To live in all the little moments of my life, and experience them to the fullest.

It is a promise I intend to keep.

  1. What an interesting idea. I hadn’t heard of it until I watched this video. I’m not into resolutions but I do have work, blogging personal growth goals re: health and happiness. I currently I use one of my blog’s for sharing life lessons ie. for accountability purposes. Thanks, Jerry because changing the word resolutions to to promises sits better with me. Best wishes for promise keeping in 2014.
